Pastor’s Blog

The year 2020 was a particularly hard year for me in more ways than one. I moved towns in one of the craziest years of my life. My dad’s condition worsened due to Motor Neuron Disease. I watched my church close down due to COVID-19 restrictions. I watched people in society become divided due to political tensions. Conflict, crisis and challenge seem to sum up 2020.

But as a Christian I saw a new opportunity for growth in a difficult season knowing that all things work together for good to those who love God (Romans 8:28). Even though my dad’s condition has worsened I trust in God knowing that our present troubles are small and won’t last very long – preparing for us a glory that is beyond all comparison (2 Corinthians 4:17). As I watched the church building close I knew that nothing will prevail against God’s church, not even the gates of hell (Matthew 16:18). And as I watched the conflicts rising in our world I knew it wasn’t accident, but the work of the angry enemy Satan because he knows his time is short (Revelation 12:12). The Bible gives us clarity in our crisis and courage in our challenges. God promises to gives us compassion in the conflict.

The year ahead may seem full of mystery but trust in God who holds tomorrow in his hands. As we continue to do ministry as a church. We want to build our community to be inclusive and inviting more people to discover Jesus. If you do not have this hope yet contact me through the Connect page. I want to invest in families that lead children to have hope in this hopeless world. In this sad world, I hope to be light and joy. If you want to partner with us please jump on the Give page and find out how you can give.

Church Reopening

Last year brought us into some very unprecedented times. Despite all the difficult challenges our church has had to face, we have learnt a lot and are looking forward to the future with God. This year we are excited to see what God has planned for our church.

Starting January 23 we will be kicking off our two services at 9 am and 11 am. The 9 am Group includes a Bible Study time, fellowship and worship. The 11 am Family Church is a place for all ages and is for adults and children alike to discover the Bible together.

If you haven’t been to church before or for a long time we would love to see you there. Make sure you follow COVID safe rules while with us and please be assured that we follow a COVID safe plan for your well being.

Cooroy Adventist Church is a church located at Noosa Christian College. By building strong families, mentoring young people and caring for the community, we want to be an inclusive community that lead people to Jesus.
